Within the Peligna mountain community, in the Maiella natural park, this town in the province of L'Aquila has around seven thousand inhabitants.
The area is crossed by the Sagittario river and some streams, which makes it ideal for nature excursions and trekking. The cuisine of Pratola Peligna is rich in typical Abruzzo products, such as the well-known "pizzelle". Pizzelle, also called "ferratelle", are a mixture of flour, eggs, sugar, with the addition of any flavorings to taste and cooked with a tool made up of two iron plates, which can be opened like a booklet to cook a little at a time on the stove I live

The municipal administration would like to increase the population of the town, not limiting itself to the period of greatest tourist presence, in order to redevelop other properties and expand the offer. In this sense, Case a 1 Euro is a project that in this village is integrated with an entrepreneurial activity, in particular:

The Municipality offers:
the granting of a non-repayable monthly contribution for three years up to a maximum of 8000/year,the provision of a home at a symbolic rent,a non-repayable contribution, up to a maximum of 20,000 euros, one-off, for starting the entrepreneurial activity.It is interesting to underline that, in order to cause damage to other villages in a situation of abandonment, the aspiring inhabitants must not come from Municipalities which on January 1, 2020 had a number of residents lower than 2000 units.
